Telnet Mod for 1.01.03 firmware

I'm opening this blog, because my server and domain are down now. And I have some more mods than just telnet one to publish.

Notice: This mod is for Annex A.

As you know Linksys deleted telnet from 1.01.03 firmware update "for security reasons". Ok, there are some fixes in this update, but we need telnet sometimes too. So, what to do? Well, I recompiled firmware from GPL source code provided by Linksys with telnet enabled, and make a firmware update for you. You just need to download it and update through modem web face. Do not update while you are on wireless connection, do it through ethernet.

Download a zip archive with modded firmware from filefactory.

  1. Can you explain what fixes have you made that enables the WAG54GS to work with Telnet?

Why can't the WAG54GS settings be configured to do this instead?

  2. Where can I download the source code? I'm looking for the sources for the hw revision 1.1.

    Thanks.
